Most door stops are made to be hidden away. This one is made to be seen.
It is felted wool, weighted with whole flaxseed and a quiet note of lavender, with a soft loop on top to carry it from door to door. It holds a door open where you put it, and the soft base is gentle on timber, tile and vinyl.
It is made for internal doors that swing freely. Each one is cut, sewn and filled by hand in our Auckland workroom, in fourteen colours, so you can match one room or give every door its own.
Handcrafted in our Auckland workroom from local and imported materials:
- Felted wool cloth, woven and finished by Inter-Weave in Auckland
- Whole flaxseed and dried lavender fill
- Felt loop handle
- Woven brand label
Approx. 1.3kg. 14cm wide, 14cm deep and 14cm tall, plus the loop. Arrives filled and ready to use.
Made for internal doors that swing freely. Not for doors with a closer or a spring hinge, and never for fire or smoke doors.
Each one is made by hand from natural materials, so sizes and weights vary a little.
Spot clean with a damp cloth. Do not wash it or soak it.
Keep it indoors and dry. The fill is whole flaxseed, which should never get wet, so keep it away from rain, wet shoes and steamy bathrooms. If it does get wet, dry it straight away somewhere warm, airy and shaded, or with a dehumidifier.
Vacuum the floor around it now and then and turn it over occasionally, as you would any wool piece.

Three Natural Materials
Wool outside. Seed and lavender inside.
The Felt
Felted wool cloth, woven and finished by Inter-Weave in Auckland, New Zealand's last commercial wool weaver. Dense and soft to the touch, with no hard edges.
The Weight
Filled with whole flaxseed, which settles low in the dome. The weight keeps it planted and holds the door where you put it.
The Scent
Dried lavender, mixed through the fill. A quiet note at the doorway, never a synthetic one. Like all dried lavender, it softens over time.

Every year I buy new weighted eye masks for myself and friends. It’s not that there’s anything wrong with my old ones (I have a collection now) but I love the feeling of the fresh new one and the updates to design. Another favorite product is the door stops. Beautifully made door stop in dark olive colour
Love the natural, sustainable looking doorstop that blends in with our wooden floors & works well as a doorstop for entrance door.

It is made for internal doors that swing freely. At around 1.3kg, filled with whole flaxseed, it holds a standard internal door open where you put it. It is not made for doors with a closer or a spring hinge.
Never use a door stop on a fire door or smoke door. They are built to close on their own.
The base is 14cm across and the fill settles low in the dome. On smooth timber or tile, a firm push from the door can slide it, as with any soft door stop. A door that pushes hard against it needs a fixed stop.

There are cheaper door stops that will hold a door. This one is made to be looked at as well.
The base is soft felted wool with no hard edges, so it is gentle on timber, tile and vinyl. Keep the base clean and dry. Trapped grit or moisture can mark delicate or pale finishes.
It is not a toy. The fill is whole flaxseed and dried lavender, which pets should not eat. If your dog chews soft things, keep it out of reach. If a pet chews it open, contact your vet.
