How the Pillow Supports Better Sleep
Temperature Regulation
Most pillows trap heat as the night goes on. Wool breathes naturally and manages moisture, so the pillow stays cool from the moment you lie down to the moment you wake up.
Adjustable Fill
Open the pillow and add or remove wool to match your sleep position, body shape, and preference. The right height — set by you, not the factory.
Long-Term Shape
Synthetic and down pillows compress and lose loft within months. Wool springs back, holding its structure for years instead of weeks.
100% Natural
New Zealand wool and breathable cotton — no synthetic foams, no chemical treatments, no heat-trapping fillers. A material you can actually feel good sleeping on.
At the Do Not Disturb Sleep Company, when we are fortunate enough to make a sale, we believe that’s the start of our job. Our job is not done until our customers (hopefully you) love their sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and happy.
So, we are proud to offer a 30-night ‘Love Your Sleep’ Promise. If the sleep essential you purchase isn’t delivering to your expectations, you can return it within 30 nights to get a full refund, excluding shipping cost (if applicable). What’s the reason we can make this promise? Because our products work, and because we genuinely care

Size Guide:
Standard = 74cm x 49cm
King = 89cm x 49cm
Note: These are the cover sizes without the inner pillow. The actual pillow size is less than this and depends on whether you remove any of the fill.
Firmness guide: Wool is a denser fibre than synthetics and delivers a medium to firm feel. If you are looking for a soft pillow experience then take a look at our Super Soft pillow. We also have the Air Support pillow which blends soft & supportive perfectly.
Remember, you can easily adjust the comfort level of our pillows by removing or adding fill. Give the pillow a good shake and fluff up to rebalance the fill.
We make the pillows in our Auckland workroom from these local and imported materials:
- 200gsm Wisewool 'Blanketing' - made from premium wool sourced from farms in the Gisborne region
- NZ farmed and refined 'Cloud' wool... courtesy of our friends at Wisewool
- 300TC 100% Cotton Percale - Quilted Cover
- 100% Cotton HD Muslin - Inner Pillowcase
- YKK zip
- Spun Polyester Thread
- Woven Damansk and Recylcled Polyester Labels
- Calico Cotton - Carry Bag (we make these in-house) *save $10 if you don't need any more packaging in your life :)
Pure wool performs best when handled gently, especially when wet. Regular airing is recommended to keep the pillow fresh and reduce the need for washing.
If washing is needed, remove the inner wool filling and hand wash it in cool water using a gentle wool detergent. Do not wring, agitate, or tumble dry.
The outer pillow duvet can be machine washed in cold water on a delicate or wool cycle using a wool-safe detergent. Suitable for front loaders or top loaders without an agitator.
Air dry naturally where possible. If needed, finish in a tumble dryer on no heat only. Avoid heat, as it can damage wool fibres.
Can be ironed on a warm setting. Gently stretch the fabric while ironing to help reduce shrinkage.
You may notice small traces of plant material in the wool. This is normal for minimally processed wool and will soften over time.
A Better Foundation for Sleep
Find the Right Pillow for You
Pillow Duvet (Enhancer Layer)
Best for: keeping the pillow you love, but cooler and more breathable. A wool layer that fits over your existing pillow. The cheapest way to bring wool's temperature regulation to your bed without starting over.: Does not include filling — all other pillows in the range include this layer.
Air Support Pillow (Best Value)
Best for: a balanced, all-round feel at a lower price point. A blend of fibre and shredded foam — softer than wool, with a touch of structure. Includes synthetic materials.
Wisewool Pillow (Signature)
Best for: a fully natural, fully adjustable pillow you'll keep for years. 100% New Zealand wool. Open it, adjust it, refill it. Our highest-quality pillow and the one we'd choose for ourselves.
Super Soft Pillow (The Plush Option)
Best for: anyone who wants a soft, sink-in feel. Polyester fibre for a low-resistance, traditional pillow feel. Not natural — just soft.
Built to Adjust, Built to Last
Open the zip, take wool out, add wool back in — keep adjusting until the height fits the way you sleep. Over the years you can top up the filling instead of replacing the whole pillow.
The wool itself is sourced through Wisewool from New Zealand farms and cleaned using natural detergents only — no chemical treatments. The same wool runs through our duvets, body pillows, and sleep masks, so your whole bed can stay cool, breathable, and natural — not just your head.
Still Wondering About Something?
Wool is one of the few natural fibres that actively manages both heat and moisture — that's why it's been used in bedding for thousands of years. Where memory foam and synthetic fills trap warmth as the night goes on, wool breathes continuously, wicking moisture away from your skin and keeping the surface temperature stable. Most of our customers come to wool specifically because they sleep hot, run warm in menopause, or wake up sweaty on synthetic pillows. It's the single most common reason people switch — and stay.
Memory foam holds one fixed shape and traps heat. It contours nicely at first but softens over time and can't be adjusted.
Latex is supportive and durable but firm and unchangeable — what you buy is what you sleep on, forever.
Down is soft and luxurious but compresses overnight, needs constant fluffing, and traps heat more than people expect.
Wool sits between firm and soft, regulates temperature, holds its loft for years, and — unlike all three above — can be opened, adjusted, and refilled. It's the only one of the four that's genuinely customisable to your body.
Yes — and this is exactly why the pillow is adjustable.
Side sleepers usually want more fill to support the gap between shoulder and ear — most add wool until the pillow sits firm and high.
Back sleepers typically want a medium height, with enough give to cradle the head without pushing it forward.
Stomach sleepers generally want less fill — open the pillow and remove wool until it sits flat and soft.
Most people spend the first few nights tweaking the fill before settling on their height. After that, you rarely think about it again.
A good wool pillow should last 8–10 years, often longer. Wool fibres are naturally springy and don't break down the way synthetic fill or down does — most pillows you've owned have flattened within 1–2 years because the fill itself has compressed and lost loft. Wool resists that.
And because the pillow is refillable, when the fill does eventually soften, you top it up with more Wisewool instead of replacing the whole pillow. At $249 spread across a decade, it works out cheaper than replacing a $50 pillow every couple of years — and you sleep better the whole time.
No — and there are two reasons why. Wisewool is scoured using a natural cleaning process that removes the lanolin and most farm scent before it ever reaches our workroom. On top of that, the wool fill sits inside our pillow duvet, which contains the wool and adds another layer between you and the fill. The result is a clean, neutral pillow — not a wool smell.
In the rare case you do notice a faint scent in the first day or two, a quick airing clears it completely.
Sleep on it for up to 30 nights. If it's not right for you — too firm, too soft, too tall, just not your thing — send it back for a full refund. We make every pillow by hand in Auckland and we'd rather you sleep well on something else than keep a pillow you don't love. The full refund policy is here.
